Review: Autumn Falls (Autumn Falls #1)

Title: Autumn Falls
Author: Bella Thorne
Published: November 11, 2014
Format: Paperback (ARC)

A book by Bella Thorne, the best friend of Zendaya from Disneys Shake it Up…
I have to say I just grew curious.

Update 1:

I was lucky enough to get an ARC from Random House Distributing Company (Penguin) and I have to say, I was quite excited with finding out that Bella Thorne is now an author, not only coming out with a stand alone novel, but with a series! 😀 so excited!!!

Update 2:

This book was pretty interesting. This was more of a high school drama type, with a girl getting used to the new environment since she had to move from her hometown after a serious accident with her father.

This book is generally filled with personal elements from Bella’s own life. It has a real girl that all teenage girls (generally) will love, trying to find her own inner strength and be the best she can be. But there’s a twist. It has magic and mystery too!!!

Autumn Falls a.k.a Bella Thorne (in real life) with her fiery red hair, new-girl outsider status, and tendency to be a total klutz she is definitely not flying below the radar at Aventura High. Luckily, she makes some genuine friends who take her under their wing (you’ll love them too!!!) But she also manages to get on the wrong side of the school’s queen bee, and then finds out the guy she’s started to like, funny and sweet Sean, hangs with the mean crowd. Now her rep and her potential love life are at stake.

To be honest I wasn’t going for Sean at all, but for J.J. So let’s hope when the series coktinues she opens her eyes a bit.

Here is when the magic and mystery meets. Autumn starts to vent her feelings in a journal that belonged to her late father, suddenly her wildest wishes start coming true. Throughout the story she is trying to figure out if the journal is really magical, or if every single thing she writes in her journal is just a mere coincidence.

In this book we don’t really find out about that. Autumn focuses on fixing all of the mistakes she made with the journal first, and then figures out (probably in the sequel) what the journal really is…

There was a bunch of plot twists, like is it really about Autumn and finding a purpose in life? Her love life? Drama life in high school? Winning the contest for her friend? Her father dying? Or is it really just all about Autumn, and then all of those other things just extras.

Then we have the cliffhanger. Yes, she fixed her issues with the enemy, Sean, and her inner demons, but what happened to her closest friends???

That’s what did it for me. I’ll still read the next book, because I am dead curious with what Bella Thorne has in store for us next!
